We are thrilled to commemorate the third anniversary of our Southbury store, after reflecting on a remarkable journey that began with a successful holiday pop-up shop in the fall of 2020. We look back and feel brave in how we ventured into a permanent retail store in February 2021. We aimed to bring a unique shopping experience to the region despite the many challenges that awaited us… from supply chain challenges and fears that surrounded COVID-19, it proved to be an unprecedented time. We are so beyond thankful for all of the support from our customers and subscribers all over the United States, we could not have made this dream come true without you. The future's looking bright and we are excited to see what it holds for both the store and for our beloved brand, Piper and Dune.
The challenges of launching during a pandemic only fueled our determination to provide an amazing omni-channel retail experience. Sometimes we look back at all the hurdles, and we’re amazed that we are celebrating the start of our 3rd year despite the fact we believe we are well-suited to adapt and persevere with changing times. Having started online with a humble pop-up, our journey has been a testament to the strength of our community, the support of our local vendors and the passion of our amazing team.
We’d like to think Piper and Dune has quickly become a local favorite, renowned for its curated selection of New England style goods - many with a coastal flair or lake theme (you know we love the water!) or that express pride in the beautiful northeast region, but always with a commitment to quality. All of you in our community have rallied behind Piper and Dune, recognizing our resilience and the dedication it took to navigate the uncertainties of the past three years. We are happy to be celebrating a successful 2023 holiday season. The tricky part is figuring out how we can stay top of mind with all of you, our customers, throughout the year, but we’ll do our very best to stay connected. Like many other small businesses, Piper and Dune has had many ups and downs and as we continue to weather the storm of inflation and changing consumer buying trends, but it has also flourished into a thriving hub for locals seeking uniquely curated products, personalized service, and a connection to a business that has become an integral part of the community and who gives back to local nonprofits.
To celebrate this milestone, Piper and Dune will be hosting a ribbon-cutting on Friday February 9th at 11:30am. The community is invited to join the festivities and share in the success of Piper and Dune. There will be FREE giveaways, a raffle, sales, refreshments and more. We hope to see you!
